CrossFit is constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement.
In gyms and health clubs throughout the world the typical workout consists of isolation movements and extended aerobic sessions. The fitness community from trainers to the magazines has the exercising public believing that lateral raises, curls, leg extensions, sit-ups and the like combined with 20-40 minute stints on the stationary bike or treadmill are going to lead to some kind of great fitness. Well, at CrossFit we work exclusively with compound movements and shorter high intensity cardiovascular sessions. Courtesy of CrossFit, Inc.
At Vigor CrossFit, an instructed CrossFit Workout of the Day (WOD) is conducted on the hour. The trainer/coach is with you every step of the way to ensure proper technique and provide encouragement. CrossFit is unlike any workout program because the workout is different every day. “Gone are the days of walking on a treadmill or using weight machines that focus on one part of your body,” said Rob and Tracy, Vigor members, “CrossFit WODs work the entire body with every workout.”
CrossFit WODs are short, intense workouts. For most CrossFit athletes, the intensity produces better results than traditional fitness routines.
